Your Site Looks Different on Every Screen Resolution

If the font looks “huge” on one laptop and “tiny” on another, it’s not a bug — it’s resolution. See how pixels and responsive design shape how your site appears./p>

The truth is, every modern website adapts to the device. That includes scaling the spacing between elements up or down, rearranging them, and adjusting their size.

Even between two of the same type of device with different resolutions, there are differences.

What happens in practice

Over the years, we've built sites with beautiful, well-balanced design, but once they go live, something interesting sometimes happens.

Two days later, the client goes to visit someone, decides to show off their new site on some old laptop, and then I get a call:

"The fonts are too big, we need to make them smaller." — A client

The next day — another call:

"The fonts are way too small, let's make them bigger!" — A client

Why does this happen?

Fonts on a website look different on every device. That's because, depending on the resolution, the screen has a specific number of pixels.

For example, Full HD resolution is 1920px wide, while HD Ready is 1366px. So text set at 16px looks larger on HD Ready and smaller on Full HD.
